We’ve put together information answering the things people most commonly ask us about. You can find this below:

Can I make an appointment to see you to discuss my study and scholarship options or find a course in the UK?

We do not provide face-to-face counselling about education in the UK. However, we have provided all the relevant information right here on our website. Please visit our UK Studies section.

If I have a question about exams?

Our Exams team will be happy to help you with any exams or distance learning enquiries. They are available for your phone calls from 1300 to 1500 every working day on +385 1 4899 508, and you can always email them, too. Make sure you visit our Exams section.

Can I borrow books from your library?

We do not have a library in Zagreb. The collection from our former library is now available in:

  • Bogdan Ogrizović Library, Preradovićeva 5 (Flower Square), Zagreb: literature, travel, history and science books
  • City Library (Gradska knjižnica), Starčevićev trg 6, Zagreb: English language learning, teaching & exams materials, our DVD collection, arts and cooking/nutrition books

Can you help me get a visa?

For all information about visas, please visit the website of the British Embassy in Zagreb.

Can you help me find a job in the UK?

We are not able to give careers advice or information about jobs in the UK or elsewhere. If you are in education, your institution might have a careers service. If you intend to work during your studies in the UK, please see the UK Border Agency‘s pages to find out about the amount of hours you are allowed to work, as restrictions may apply. For more information, please contact your (prospective) higher education institution in the UK.

Can you help me find a teaching job in Croatia?

We do not have a teaching centre in Croatia, but you may wish to contact one of our exams partner schools in Croatia to see if they have any vacancies. In our Teaching Jobs section you can also find the latest job openings in the British Council’s network of teaching centres across the globe.

Can you find me a language school in the UK?

We recommend language schools that have been accredited (inspected and approved) by the British Council. To see a full list, click here. You can also use the search engine at www.educationuk.org/english where only accredited schools are listed. All the schools, colleges and universities on this list are accredited through Accreditation UK. This means that they all meet agreed quality standards guaranteed by Accreditation UK. Information based on the independent findings of the Accreditation UK inspection report is available here.

I want to learn English in Croatia. Can you recommend a school?

We do not make recommendations about language schools in Croatia. We work with a number of schools offering courses for the University of Cambridge English for Speakers of Other Languages Examinations (Cambridge ESOL) and you can check their details based on the exams that they prepare candidates for in our School Finder. Please note, however, that this list does not include all language schools in Croatia.
